Comparing both versions of this image, I really like both, actually. I kind of understand why you chose this one, though. This is more "sad and blue". They seem to be playing a slow and sad blues, whilst the other one is more like a funny swing where the musicians appear to be more important in the composition than the old man running to the light. Nevertheless, the one below also transmits a mood of good feeling for the "journey" that I kind of like (I even imagine the old man "dancing" as he walks). This one, on the contrary, makes the death something much sadder, which is also fine if that was your idea.
